Whether you live in the Big Apple, or in the Big Easy, a man’s closet will fluctuate. Single guy living on his own, he’s got more space than clothes. As you gain experience through relationships, jobs, and life, your wardrobe will change.
Nothing wreaks more havoc than having seasonal clothes, fighting in an ever shrinking space. The definition of organized chaos is stuffing your cardigans and t-shirts in one drawer, and hanging multiple shirts on wire hangers from the dry cleaners. As the weather gets warmer, either invest in a Public Storage space, or buy a few plastic totes from Target and store those winter clothes away.
Give your clothes a breath of fresh air, take the doors off of your closet. Now you can see what you have hanging, and the color of your shoes and ties. For the majority of guys who shop once or twice a year, it’s amazing how many good pieces they might have hidden in their mosh pit of a closet. For clothes that you haven’t worn in a long time, it might be time to part ways. Invest in evaluating your closet, and ask yourself, is it helping or hurting your style.
